of people cited a website’s design as the number one factor in deciding the credibility of a business.

of companies who developed a mobile-friendly website experienced an increase in sales.

Business is better with a well designed website.

The data doesn’t lie. Having a well-done business website will help your sales and build that crucial trust with your customers.

Customers now expect businesses to have websites.

If you don’t have a website, it sends a message that your business is stuck in the Dark Ages, that you’re not open anymore, or that you’re not interested in finding new customers—and those are certainly not messages you want to send!

More importantly, having a user-friendly, mobile website design is a necessity as 57% of web traffic comes from mobile devices. And it is only going up.

A website makes you look more reputable and trustworthy.

Consumers are learning to be pretty savvy when they do research online. That’s why it’s so important to have a modern, secure, up-to-date website with a custom domain and other markers of trustworthiness. A website also shows that you are open for business during a time when there is a lot of uncertainty.

Your social media site doesn’t replace the need for a website.

Maybe you already have a Facebook page and some pretty good reviews on social media. Lots of business owners assume that a social media profile for their business is enough.

But there are some problems with this strategy. First, you’ll always be dependent on the social media platform you choose. Algorithms change, rules change, and what’s working one day might not work a few weeks from now.

If you have a website, it belongs to you, and you control the content and the message. Part of the reason you started your own business is so that you don’t have to follow other people’s rules—so why would you just do what a social media platform tells you to?

Trends change, too. If your customers are on Instagram today, they might be on a new platform tomorrow. As people switch from one tool to the next, your website acts as an anchor. No matter what social media service customers prefer, they can always find your website in the same place, available to everyone.

Website Tune-up

Let’s fix or update your website.

If you are already using WordPress, I can update the design, move it to another host, add responsive design, and add new tools or functionality.
If you are stuck using a proprietary platform such as Wix, Squarespace, or similar and want to leave that platform, I can recreate your site using WordPress.

Reach out to me so we can get your website back in shape.

of consumers wouldn’t recommend a business without a mobile-friendly website.

of visitors leave websites with lousy navigation.

of users are less likely to go back to a website after a bad experience.

of people use multiple devices to visit the same website.

More is not always better.

Usually, small business owners create their site following the motto “They want it all and they want it now.”

Unfortunately, this is not the key to success. Visitors need just enough to stay on your website. Clean (yet beautiful) and consistant design, which includes only the essentials, can do miracles for your business.

A website should look good on any size of device.

Responsive web design is essential for your business’s website. More and more people use different devices to access the web (e.g., phones, tablets/iPads, laptops), and your website should appeal to every one of them. The lack of a responsive design will cost you customers. (Please see illustration above for an example of responsive vs non-responsive design.)

A crucial first impression.

People do judge a book by its cover. People will create their first impression within 10 seconds of your site being clicked on. Creating a good first impression can pay off in spades in the long run. That’s why you have to do everything right to ensure your customers feel at home even from the first time they land on your homepage.
